ADAPTATION
The hawthorn knows how to defend itself. It uses its thorns to protect it from herbivores. However, live organisms (biotic stress; bio=life in Greek) are not the only factors that put a plant’s life at risk and certain dangers arise from environmental conditions. Abiotic factors (drought, lack of light…) can result in oxidizing stress and the production of free radicals. These have damaging effects on cells. Thankfully, to protect itself, the Hawthorn uses its high quantity of polyphenols, including tannins that are molecules with anti-oxidizing properties.
Origins of the plant
In hedges found in the temperate zones of the northern hemisphere, the Hawthorn spreads its highly scented, white flowers and shiny green leaves.
This bush that can reach 2 to 5 meters high, grows naturally in many regions. The Yves Rocher Brand, always respectful of the earth and plant world, has chosen to use only organically farmed Hawthorn grown in Europe. The flowering tops of these plants are the base for the Hawthorn extract developed by Yves Rocher laboratories.

Our extract
Using a classical shampoo repeatedly, can damage the hair fiber.
