The Mallow has pretty, purplish-pink flowers that draw the eye and pollinating insects! Its hermaphrodite flowers are capable of self-fertilizing but also use pollinating insects. Insects are attracted to this particular color and involuntarily transport their pollen from plant to plant or from female parts to male parts of plants. The Mallow’s mauve color ensures the survival of its species!
Origins of the plant
Mallow is a symbolic plant grown organically in La Gacilly, Brittany, on Yves Rocher land since 1979. It is an annual plant and is sown in spring. It grows slowly at the beginning of the season and then accelerates when it flowers. Late July, early August, it is almost as tall as a human! During the summer, its flowering tops are harvested as soon as they blossom and are dried instantly. This is how the Mallow preserves its lovely purple color.
