You only have to bite into an apple to understand that it is resistant. This aspect is not due to chance but to the presence of pectin. This molecule in the fruit, is found in very high quantities throughout the apple’s flesh. Its role is to ensure the rigidity of the cell walls and in consequence the solidity of the fruit. Other than its structural role in the apple, once it has been transformed into oligosides, pectin acts as a powerful regulator of the apple tree’s metabolism.
Origins of the plant
The Yves Roche Brand does not look far for sources that exist in our regions. The apples used in the manufacture of Yves Rocher products, comes from Europe and the extraction of the oligosides is carried out in France.

Our extract
In the skin, structural elements and also cells, communicate continuously. However as we get older or due to external aggressions, this communication is perturbed and not as effective and it is this that leads to skin aging. To restore the link between the skin’s different components, the Yves Rocher laboratories carried out research into apple pectin and developed a natural procedure for manufacturing oligosides. This procedure reproduces the mechanisms that occur in the plant (hydrolysis of pectin by enzymes, called pectinases) and leads to the production of a mixture of perfectly defined and controlled oligosides. The discovery of their efficacy has been the object of 3 invention patents. Tests carried out in vitro have proven its efficacy and revealed that oligosides stimulate virtually all the mechanisms of communication, adherence and cohesion on a molecular and cellular level but also on a tissue level. The “benefits for the skin» of products containing this exclusive mixture, such as the Elixir 7.9 range, are visible: the skin appears younger, recovers its radiance and the depth of wrinkles is reduced.
